The Christ of Abyss’ statue, damaged in April by some vandals that amputated it the arms, has been relocated at its place. To the replacement on the seabed at 25 meters of depth was present also the President of the Chamber, Gianfranco Fini, also known for his passion for diving. Moreover was himself that located the statue, blessed from Pope John Paul II in 2000 on occasion of the “Gubilee of Divers”. The statue has been accompanied by the Carabinieri up to the port for the public exposure at 9.30 a.m. When the President arrived, around 10.30 a.m., they started the operation solved with a diving of approx 40 minutes. The Christ has been repositioned in the same position after a repair that provided the intervention of the President Fini and the Minister of Cultural Heritage. With great pleasure we can declare that on his wrist our President was wearing our model Immersion SEAL, that is well suited for technical diving and that has done his job very well. Therefore Immersion has indirectly participated to the conclusion of this work that bring back the seabed of the Giglio Island at its original conditions.
